Free lawyers or legal aid are for people with low income. If you have enough financial means to hire a lawyer, then the government will not give you a free lawyer. Because of this, and excluding special circumstances, free lawyers are limited to individuals who do not have sufficient financial means. The law uses the IPREM affordability indicator when measuring whether or not a person has sufficient means. This IPREM should not be new to you and is often seen when applying for residence.
In summary, individuals whose annual income is not higher than the following can apply for a free lawyer (2021 criteria):
If you are a single person, you can apply for free legal aid if your annual income is not higher than 13.557,60 euros (2021 standard). All rights reserved .
