Non lucrative residence permit
Non-profit residency (also known as non-working residency, residency visa without work, non-profit residency or non-profit residency), is a convenient and fast way to immigrate to Spain.
For more information about non-profit residency, you can check the related article on: Frequently Asked Questions on Non lucrative Residency in Spain
What are the requirements to renew the non-profit residence?
In general, the following conditions need to be fulfilled:
1.No criminal record in Spain.
2.Residence within the validity period and 90 days after the expiration date.
3.The applicant needs to provide proof of financial means. The law stipulates that the applicant must have a monthly income of 4 times the IPREM economic indicator, i.e. 2,400euros. There are many ways to prove financial means, such as dividends from company shares, investment funds, pensions, etc. Proof of financial resources can be done in the same way as in the first application or in a different way.
In other words, as long as the applicant can prove that he/she has a monthly income of 2,400euros, he/she can change his/her non-profit residence.
Note: If the applicant has family members in Spain, for each family member, it is necessary to prove an additional 1x IPREM value.

4. The applicant needs to have medical insurance .
Documents required
-Official version of the application form (EX-01). Click here to download.
-A copy of the applicant’s (i.e., the nonprofit resident’s) residence .
-Documents proving financial capacity, which can be submitted depending on your situation:
- If you have a Spanish bank account and have sufficient funds, you can submit the last 1 year of Spanish bank liquidity. If you do not have a lot of money, you can provide proof of average deposits for the last 1 year.
- If you do not have a Spanish bank account, or if your account balance is insufficient, you can also use a certificate of deposit from a bank in your home country.
- If you have an income in Spain or in your country (not from work), you can also submit the corresponding proof.
-A copy of the applicant’s passport (valid for at least 1 year), if the passport has been replaced within a short period of time, a copy of the old passport is also required. Note: The main reason why the Immigration Department wants to see the old passport is to easily check that the applicant has not exceeded the time of departure.
-The applicant needs to have medical insurance, for which an insurance policy is sufficient.
-If you have children in Spain, you will need a certificate of school attendance. This certificate should be obtained from the school’s secretariat, but usually it is sufficient for the child to ask the school for it, without any additional formalities .
-In addition, it is necessary to submit the paid version of the TASA 790-052 at the time of application. When filling out the 790-052 form, tick 2.2 “renovación de autorización de residencia temporal” in the section on matters to be handled. Feel free to check out the related article:

-In case of dependence on a family member, it is necessary to submit, depending on the situation: notarization of marriage, notarization of birth or notarization of kinship.

Online submission is now also supported by the Immigration Offices throughout Spain and requires an e-certificate.
