FOREIGN COMPANY: HOW TO APPLY FOR SPANISH TAX NUMBER?
NIF
Every foreign company that wants to establish itself in Spain or to do any kind of business in Spain must have his NIF. This is the Fiscal Identification Number (Número de Identificación Fiscal in Spanish).
HOW TO OBTAIN THE NIF AS A FOREIGN COMPANY?:
You need to apply for it in the Spanish Tax Agency (Agencia Tributaria Española, AEAT).
Required documents:
1. Document which authorizes that the foreign company exist abroad

- Such as the certificate of incorporation
2. Power of attorney which authorize a Spanish national person to apply for the foreign company’s NIF.

- A non-national personal can be authorize too, but must have his/her NIE (Foreigner’s Identification Number).
Both documents have to be apostilled or legalized and officially translated.
3. Fill in the 036 model of the Agencia Tributaria Española.
