MINIMUM SALARY REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR HIGHLY SKILLED WORKER VISA

If you have a job offer to work in Spain and you meet the requirements that appears below it’s better and easier to obtain the highly skilled worker visa than the work permit as an employee.

This visa fit within the Entrepreneurs Law (Ley 14/2013) and allows you to apply for it while you are in Spain legally.

Requirements:

  • To have a master or a PhD or a degree in an important business school.
  • The company to work for has to be big, that’s means that has to have more than 250 employees or that turns over more than 50 million euros per year. Another option is that the company works in a strategic sector in Spain.
  • Your job has to be as a director manager or as a very specialised and technical professional.
  • A salary around 50.000 euros per year. (In the next part we carry out deeply this point)

Salary:

One of the principal requirements that you need to take into account when you’re applying for a highly skilled visa is the salary that you will earn working in Spain.

  • If you get a job offer as a manager or director you will need a minimum salary of 50.000 euros/year
  • If you are a scientific or an intellectual professional you will need a minimum salary of 40.000 euros/year

In some specific cases, a reduction of 25% of the legal base of salary can be applied:

  • If the job offer provides from a small or medium company which works in a strategic sector.
