Retirement age delayed
According to the amendment act, the retirement age in Spain will be 66 years and 4 months from January 1, 2023. Retirement age will gradually increase to 67 years old in the coming years.
This means that those who retire in 2023 will need to be 66 years and 4 months old before they can apply for a pension.
However, if you meet the conditions, you can still apply for early retirement.
The minimum pension will increase in 2023.
The minimum pension for 2023 is:
– 966€/month (in the case of a spouse with no income).
– 783€/month (in case of no spouse).
For example, a retiree whose original pension amount was €500/month, with a spouse and no income from the spouse, can have an additional allowance to reach the minimum pension amount of €966/month.
