Spanish Golden Visa
The Golden Visa is a residency visa for foreign investors (only for non-UE). This special regime allows these foreign investors to reside legally in Spain.
The main requirement to apply for a Golden Visa in Spain is to make a “significant investment” in the country, but what does “significant investment” mean?
Types of investments
1. Financial investment:
- In Spanish public debt for a minimum value of 2.000.000€.
- In shares of Spanish companies for a minimum value of 1.000.000€.
- In Spanish bank deposits for a minimum amount of 1.000.000€.
2. Real estate investments:
The acquisition of a real estate in Spain for a minimum price of 500.000€.
3. Entrepreneur investments:
Development of a business project in Spain considered as being of general interest. According to this idea, the project may create jobs, have a significant socio-economic impact, make an important contribution to scientific or technological innovation.
What are the general requirements?
- Not staying illegally in Spain
- Be over 18 years old
- Have no criminal record in Spain, as well as in the countries where he/she has lived during the last 5 years.
- Not appear as a rejectable subject in any of the Schengen countries.
- Have a public or private health insurance policy with a company authorised to operate in Spain.
- Have sufficient financial resources, covering personal and family needs, during his residence in Spain.
