Personal income tax
Personal Income Tax is called Impuesto de Renta sobre las Personas Fisicas or IRPF or Renta in Spain.
Spain is divided into 17 autonomous regions (Comunidades Autónomas) and each of them may decide on its own tax rates.
Spanish tax rates for emplyment income
Spain’s tax rates in 2022 are as follows:
- Up to €12,450: 19%
- €12,450–€20,200: 24%
- €20,200–€35,200: 30%
- €35,200–€60,000: 37%
- €60,000–€300,000: 45%
- More than €300,000: 47%
Spanish tax rates on savings income
Income tax on savings is levied at the following rates:
- 19% for the first €6,000 of taxable savings income
- 21% for the following €6,000–€50,000
- 23% for the following €50,000–€200,000
- 26% for any savings income even more than €200,000
